About Missions Team

“To shine the light of God’s love and compassion to the world, sending the people of Faith Fellowship to serve others in the name of Christ, and supporting those already in the field.”
Matt. 5:14-16

This is our purpose!

The Missions Team researches and selects missions for annual support and provides hands-on opportunities for our Faith Fellowship community to serve needs in the local area. The team also relays information regarding the missions that we support. We accomplish this in various ways, including informational slides, announcements, special events, and our latest means of communication – this blog! Here you can find out more about the work we support and how you can get involved.

Each year, 10% of Faith Fellowship’s operating budget is used for missions support in our local community, the Riverbend area, and overseas. Roughly 30% of the 2008 budget is designated as “discretionary funds” to be used to cover the expenses of projects or events sponsored or supported by Faith Fellowship, or to be used in cases of emergency. Another 30% goes to charitable organizations in Alton and the surrounding area, and another third goes to support the work of Christian missions in other areas of the world. To learn more, search through “categories” to read all about each organization we currently support.

We hope you will find all the information you are looking for on this blog, but if you don’t, please drop us a line. We will gladly respond to any questions, comments, or suggestions you may have for how to improve this site.
